Around a million, billion neutrinos from the Sun will pass through your body while you read this sentence.
A nutrino is a neutral sub-atomic particle of such small mass that it passes through matter undisturbed.
Its mass has never before been measured accurately and this picture is a device that was set up to detect nutrinos, as VERY ocasionaly they will colide with matter producing energy in the form of light/heat. but this energy is so small that it is virtually undetectable.
Nutrinos are formed from redioactive decay, or nuclear reactions, which is why the sun gives of so many.

to every aspiring filmmaker: watch this (via The Hollywood Reporter)
[Director Roundtable: Quentin Tarantino, Ben Affleck, Gus Van Sant, Tom Hooper, Ang Lee, David O. Russell]
Not being American and having to watch the Americans vote for Romney is like the moment in horror movies when the audience is screaming at the character to not go down to the basement but they still do anyway and then they die a brutal, torturous death…
this is the fucking best descripition about the election omg

How to give proper credit to artists without knowing who they are
I appreciate reblogging the shit out of this if anybody wouldn’t mind.
Sick of art going around and artists not getting proper credit at all.
This x100000000.

FYI they wanted $15-40 per page for a fully colored comic page that they would take all rights to and resell.

ah I wish this post got more attention. When I was younger I got roped into giving away a lot of work for dirt cheap just because I was so flattered for being asked.
Be very very wary of any job offers that come through Deviantart or conventions. These people don’t follow your work with any sort of passion, they are scouting for anyone who can just draw in the style they need. It’s actually where people like these are advised to go for cheap art. If you are in the market for freelance set up a proper portfolio site with an email address for soliciting work. The people who are genuinely convicted about their concept will care enough to need the security granted by respected and fairly-paid staff to produce it with them. Kickstarter exists for a reason.
Spread the word, m’fuckas:
Art is work. If you want work done for you, expect to pay for it. This applies to hiring artists as much as it applies to hiring artists.
This is the exact opposite of “complicated.”
:D
I didn’t even get to the price negotiations one time (mainly because I kept saying no to the job in the first place) but was instead being tempted into things with incredibly fishy promises of the commissioner knowing some ‘anime producers’. Upon questioning it he blew up in my face so I sent him a good smackdown in return via a note and blocked him on DA. The best part was that even in my rage my writing was still a lot more solid than his and he is supposedly a writer. Upon checking his page it seemed to me that he was always going after people who he had perfect projects for which was another red flag in my mind. I’m sure had we gotten to price negotiations it’d probably have gone around something like the above pictures, especially since he wanted me to draw his comic.
Gotta love DA sometimes.
